Guidie vs Guidde

Guidde vs Guidie: which AI guide maker fits your team?

Both tools record a task in your browser and use AI to write and narrate it. Guidde is a mature platform with a large feature set; Guidie is a free beta focused on one clean recording that becomes written steps and a screen-recording-style video.

The short answer

Pick Guidde if you need a full documentation platform today: desktop capture, exports to PDF and PowerPoint, many integrations, translations and SSO. Pick Guidie if you want something free and simple that gives you both a written step-by-step guide and a narrated video from one recording, with typed text never leaving your browser.

Which one fits you

Choose Guidie if

Free beta
  • You want written steps and a video from the same recording, without editing a timeline
  • Budget is zero: Guidie is free during the beta
  • You record in real accounts and need typed text and passwords kept out of the guide
  • You prefer a video that looks like a real screen recording rather than a slideshow

Choose Guidde if

  • You need desktop app capture as well as web apps (Business plan and up)
  • You publish to many places: Guidde lists integrations such as Slack, Zendesk, Confluence and Salesforce
  • You need translations, a brand kit, PDF/PPT exports or SSO right now
  • Several creators need analytics and review workflows

How the two tools think about a guide

Guidde treats a guide as a video. You record, Guidde generates a how-to video with AI narration, and the platform around it handles branding, translations, exports and distribution to the tools your team already uses. It is built for organisations that produce a lot of training content.

Guidie treats a guide as one recording with two outputs. The same capture becomes a written step-by-step article (one instruction per step, with a marked-up screenshot) and, if you want it, a narrated MP4. Many people would rather skim text than watch a video; others need the video for onboarding. Guidie gives you both without a second take.

The video looks different

Guidde's videos are built from steps, with transitions and music available. Guidie's renderer aims for the look of a real screen recording: the cursor glides from one target to the next, each target is outlined as it is reached, and a small subtitle runs along the bottom. There are no zooms or slide transitions. Which you prefer is taste. If your viewers expect "show me the screen", Guidie's style is closer to that.

Privacy is on by default in Guidie

When you document a task in a live CRM or admin panel, the screen is full of real data. Guidie's extension masks every field you type into before each screenshot, never sends the typed text, skips password fields, and marks emails, phone numbers and API keys it sees on screen so you can blur them. That applies to everyone, not just a higher plan.

Where Guidde is clearly ahead

Be realistic: Guidde has years of features Guidie doesn't have yet. Desktop capture, PDF and PowerPoint exports, a brand kit, translations, analytics, review workflows and integrations with knowledge bases and help desks are all on Guidde's pricing page. If your process depends on any of these today, Guidde is the safer choice.

A fair way to decide

Record the same task in both. Look at three things: how long it took from pressing Start to having something you could send, how much you had to fix, and whether the result is something your colleagues would actually read or watch.

Questions people ask

Is Guidie a free alternative to Guidde?

Yes. Guidie is free during its beta, with no limit on guides. Guidde also has a free plan, but its paid plans unlock exports, branding and more creators.

Can Guidie record desktop apps like Guidde?

No. Guidie records web apps in Google Chrome only. Guidde offers desktop capture on its Business and Enterprise plans.

Which tool is better for privacy when recording real accounts?

Guidie never sends text typed into fields and skips password fields entirely, on every plan. Guidde offers blurring on paid plans and automatic PII redaction on Enterprise.

Can I switch from Guidde to Guidie?

There is no importer. Because Guidie builds a guide from one recording, re-recording a task usually takes about as long as doing it once.
